1 - Amer fort / Amber Palace , Jaipur 

Amer Fort or Amber Palace is a fort situated in Amer near Jaipur City, Rajasthan, India. Amer is a sub city and around 11 km from Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan. The Amer Fort were founded by Raja Man Singh and later by Sawai Jai Singh. it is situated high on a hill, it is the major tourist attraction in Jaipur City. Amer Fort is known for its beautiful style elements. With it is huge ramparts and many gates of Amer fort. (between 1037 and 1727 AD

There are four levels in Amer fort

First courtyard - Jalebi Chowk leads into the main palace grounds and Shila Devi temple where the Rajput Maharajas worshipped, Ganesh Pol or the Ganesh Gate


Second courtyard - houses the Diwan-i-Aam or the Public Audience Hall


Third courtyard Jai Mandir, Sheesh Mahal (mirror palace), Magic flower, Garden, Tripolia gate, Lion gate


Fourth courtyard -  Zenana khana - Royal family lived, Palace of Man Singh I

Hawa Mahal, also known as Palace of winds, Palace of Breeze

The Hawa Mahal is a palace in the city of Jaipur, City. Built in 1799 by the Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh from red and pink sandstone, it is on the edge of the City Palace, Jaipur, and it is women's chambers.

It was designed by Lal Chand Ustad. It is five story building with 953 small windows called Jharokhas. The windows allow royal ladies to observe everyday life and festivals celebrated in the street below without being seen

City Palace, Jaipur was  founded by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, when Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II  moved his court to Jaipur from Amber to Jaipur, in 1727. 4 - Jantar Mantar - (Jaipur Observatory)


Jantar Mantar - the "Jaipur Observatory" was construction completed in 1734 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. it is features world's largest stone sundial, and is a UNESCO World Heritage site and near City Palace and Hawa Mahal.
it is a collection of 19 astronomical instruments, The instruments allow the observation of astronomical positions with the naked eye. The observatory is one of the best example of the Ptolemaic positional astronomy.

Jantar Mantar meaning 
The name jantar is secured from yantra a Sanskrit word, meaning instrument machine, and mantar from mantrana is also a Sanskrit word meaning consult & calculate.Therefore, Jantar Mantar means calculating instrument.

Purpose to built of Jantar Mantar (Observatory)
Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, observe that the Zij, which was used for determining the position of celestial objects, it was not match correctly the positions calculated. Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh constructed five new observatories in other cities to create a correct Zij. 

Name of the nineteen  observatory instruments

1- Chakra Yantra - two big ring to find sun direction and location

2- Dakshin Bhitti Yantra - measures meridian, altitude and zenith distances of celestial bodies

3- Digamsha Yantra - to find time of Sunrise and sunset forecast

4- Disha Yantra - used to find detect the direction

5- Dhruva Darshak Pattika - observe and find the location of pole star with respect to other celestial bodies

6- Jai Prakash Yantra - two hemispherical bowl-based sundials with marked marble slabs this  instruments use to find sun location in Horoscope.

7- Kapali Yantra - This instrument calculate the astronomical and equator systems.

8- Kanali Yantra

9- Kranti Vritta Yantra - to find measure longitude and latitude of celestial bodies

10- Laghu Samrat Yantra - smaller sundial to find local time

11- Misra Yantra - it is a mixed instrument that is a compilation of five different instruments.

12- Nadi Valaya Yantra - two sundials on different sides. it is working according to season, summer and winter both sundial opposite direction from each other,  this sundial working 24 hours

13- Palbha Yantra

14- Rama Yantra -  two similar instruments to calculate angle of sun and rotation of earth (both working in  one hour gap)

15- Rashi Valaya Yantra - this instrument used to calculate planets and all 12 constellation, asterism systems.

16- Shastansh Yantra - to calculate the distance, declination, and also find the diameter of Sun.

17- Unnatamsa Yantra - this instrument for calculating altitude the angular height of any object in the sky

18-Vrihat Samrat Yantra - it is world largest sundial machine, to find current time with the help of sun shadow

19-Yantra Raj Yantraworking at night to find planets position and direction
