Jaipur One Day Tour – A Perfect Day in the Pink City

Amer fort Jaipur India

If you are planning to visit Rajasthan, then Jaipur – the Pink City of India – should be on your list. Even if you only have one day in Jaipur, you can still experience the city’s royal forts, palaces, and museums.

On my recent trip, I explored Amer Fort, Jal Mahal, City Palace, Jantar Mantar, and Albert Hall Museum in just one day. Here’s my travel experience and some useful tips for your Jaipur one day tour.

Amer fort Jaipur India

Morning at Amer Fort

I started my day early with a visit to Amer Fort, one of the most beautiful forts in India. Built with sandstone and marble, the fort has grand courtyards, decorated gates, and the famous Sheesh Mahal (Mirror Palace).

From the top, the views of Maota Lake were breathtaking. It took me around 2 hours to explore the fort properly.

Tip: Reach before 9 AM to avoid crowds. Wear comfortable shoes because the fort involves a lot of walking.

Jal Mahal Jaipur India

A Short Stop at Jal Mahal

On my way back to the city, I stopped at Jal Mahal, the Water Palace standing in the middle of Man Sagar Lake. Tourists cannot enter the palace, but the view from the roadside is beautiful and perfect for photos.

Tip: Morning and evening are the best times for photography.

City Palace Jaipur India

Exploring City Palace

Next, I visited the City Palace, which is in the center of Jaipur. The palace is still the residence of the royal family and also has a museum with costumes, weapons, and artifacts.

The Peacock Gate inside the palace was the highlight for me—it’s full of colorful designs and perfect for Instagram pictures.

Tip: Keep at least 1–2 hours for City Palace.

Jantar Mantar Jaipur India

Learning at Jantar Mantar

Just next to the City Palace is Jantar Mantar, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It’s an astronomical observatory built in the 18th century. The giant instruments were used to study stars and planets.

I was fascinated by the world’s largest stone sundial here. Hiring a guide made my visit more interesting.

Tip: Take a guide, otherwise the instruments might look confusing.

Albert Hall Jaipur India

Evening at Albert Hall Museum

My last stop was the Albert Hall Museum, a stunning building with Indo-Saracenic architecture. Inside, I saw rare coins, ancient artifacts, and even an Egyptian mummy.

In the evening, the building glows with lights, making it one of the most beautiful sights in Jaipur.

Tip: Visit after sunset to see Albert Hall beautifully lit up.
